Robot's hands

A small review of the evolution of my robot's hands
First one is from the Robbie model (yet unpublished in the Blog) from the "Forbidden Planet" movie. The hand shuold be like a glove 'cause in real model there were a man inside it.

Second one is from the Getter Saga. A typical hand from japanese anime of the Seventies, it could be used for a very big group of mecha of that time. This hand couldn't work but I think was very easy to be drawn.

Third is a more realistic (!) hand from an yet unpublished little robot: Nono's hand from the 1980 cartoon "Ulysses 31". This is not the original hand but a personal revisited version. Three fingers still seemed to be the best solution for this model.

Last one is from the Bix robot, yet published in the Blog. It remembers the Terminator hands.

Corefighter FF-X7

The original corefighter of the Gundam RX-78 Serie.
High detailed and fully colored model.

The FF-X7 Core Fighter was an integral part of Plan V of the Federation, forming a module of interchanging commando for the RX-78-2 Gundam, RX-77-2 Guncannon and RX-75-4 Guntank. Developed from the Hervic Company, that it developed also hunting FF-6 TIN Cod and FF-S3 Shaverfish, the primary scope of Core Fighter was to protect the data collected from the learning computer of the Gundam, working as vehicle of escape in case of damage or destruction of the robot.
Core Fighter was armed with four Vulcan light guns of 25mm mounted in the nose and two small missile launchers on the fuselage with 4 ammunitions each one.
- the wing span is 6,8 mt
- full load weight 8,9 tons
- propulsion supplied by 6 rockets
- the estimated maximum speed of Mach
4,8
The concept of Core Fighter was used in much piece of mobil suits until at least the UC 0153 in the LM312V04 Victory Gundam.

You can use Layer panel in SU to switch between Flying Mode and the Mobil Suit mode. You can switch Cockpit, Rear Wing, Front and back under carriage, Side Wings.

Getter Machines

From the genius of Go Nagai here are Getter Robot (1974). With the combination of 3 ships it will get 3 different robots. The strange was that different parts of fighters became different (bigger, smaller, different shapes or disappered) from one transformation to another.

Studies for buildings and electric co.

Considered the archtypal exponent of Futurist architecture right up to the end of the nineteen-thirties even though he was by no means the only one, the megalopolitan visions of Sant'Elia (1888-1916) are still a constant ideal point of reference within modern and avant-garde Italian architecture.
Born in Como, after qualifying as a master-builder he went to look for work in Milan, where he opened his own office.
He was one of the founders of the "Nuove Tendenze" group which in June 1914 exhibited at the "Famiglia Artistica" gallery.
Immediately he became an adherent of Futurism and "Lacerba" magazine for 1 August 1914 published his manifesto: L'Architettura Futurista.
Himself a socialist, in July 1915 he enlisted in the army along with the other Futurists and the following year he was killed taking part in an assault.
Stylistically influenced by the rigorous Viennese school of Otto Wagner and by the "vignettism" of Hoppe, in his representations of architecture there is an evident awaeness that the measure of the New City will be not the single building but the urban structure understood as the whole of its organic and interconnected relationships, recognising that the only starting point must be the "tumultuous life" of big cities.

Plastic Clothes-Pegs

I was bored by the MGS model, so I started these "smart shapes" just to free my mind. After I finished the model I realize that coil was too big for the peg (exactly double size), but it was too late....

RX-75-4 Guntank

The RX-75 Guntank was the first prototype mobile suit developed in the Earth Federation's Project V. However, the Guntank hardly qualified at all as a mobile suit, which generally referred to bipedal machines. The Guntank had the torso and arms of a mobile suit, but possessed a tank-like base with tracks. It also lacked the humanoid manipulator hands and had a canopy-style cockpit on the head, along with the cockpit in the torso.

Like all Project V prototypes, the Guntank's design
incorporate the Core Block System. The RX-75 Guntank was developed when the first rumors of the Principality of Zeon's mobile suits reached the Federation. The Guntank was designed as a long-range anti-mobile suit and artillery support unit.
SPECIFICATIONS:
Manufacturer: Earth Federation Forces "Project V"
Operator: Earth Federation Forces
Unit type: prototype artillery mobile suit
Dimensions: overall height 15.6 meters; head height 15.0 meters
Weight: empty 56.0 metric tons; max gross 80.0 metric tons
Construction: Luna Titanium
Powerplant: Minovsky type ultracompact fusion reactor, output rated at 878 kW
Armament: 2 x 180mm cannon, fire-linked, 30 round magazine each, mounted over shoulders; 2 x 4-tube 40mm rocket launcher, mounted on arms
Pilot(s): Ryu Jose, Hayato Kobayashi, Kai Shiden, Amuro Rayality of Zeon's

Cathedral - 1914

Unbuilt architecture by Mario Chiattone (1891-1957) dated 1914.This architecture by Chiattone seems to presage the Art Déco experience and the volumes of American skyscrapers.
Chiattone studied architecture in Milan and lived there until 1915, where he worked in the same office as Sant'Elia, exhibiting with him as part of the "Nuove Tendenze" group. Whilst he was not officially part of the Futurist Movement the way in which he chose to project his imagination on a metropolitan scale and which he seems to have picked up from Sant'Elia, undeniably places him within it, with his evident preference for stereometric and proto-rational forms. After the premature death of his friend he moved to Switzerland, and in his later projects he definitively abandoned any further reference to this proto-Futurist experience.
Modeled from the sketch in the background. Real dimensions and rear view are impossible to obtain.

HARO from Gundam 0079

A souvenir from my childhood... no weapon or power. It's only the comic character in the Gundam saga.
It is a cute testament to Amuro's exceptional talent for machines. Haro's features include a limited range of speech, and the ability to hover (in environments with atmosphere and low gravity) by flapping its ear-like appendage coverings.

Metal Gear Rex #1

I will start to publish in the Blog all the model I've done till now with Sketchup.
First one is one of my favorite and more complex model: Metal Gear Rex from the PSX videogame.
A few pics of the MGR model I've been working since the end of May 2007.

The model is quite finished, as usual, only the bottom part of the mouth is missing and a few model improvments.

Rendering is the first attempt with Kerkytea ever. Right leg is missing and arms are only boxes.

Here's the first attempt of a rough rendering with Kerkythea software. Lights are wrong and a lot of "reversed faces" are appeared.
Bottom part should be lighted by an interior green light. Still a lot of work to finish the model.

Time Voyagers: Bix #1

Friday I went to Gardaland and I saw the new 4D show named "Time Voyagers". The star was this small robot named Bix
Back home I started model it with SU, with some personal "improvements".

The model is quite ready. I'm still working to arms and try to add some details to the body.
